Franz Ferdinand Reveal All About New Album

In

a brand new interview Alex Kapranos has been talking about how the

recording of the hugely anticipated second Franz Ferdinand album is

shaping up, and reveals a somewhat unexpected Bhangra and RnB influence

?I talked about this recently in an interview and it was a little

misinterpreted. I said that this record will be ?less cold?. By that I

mean there will be less of those brittle synth sounds. Nick [Carthy

guitarist] and I have been playing piano quite a lot, so that will

undoubtedly make an appearance. We aren?t going to start slapping on

string sections or horn parts however."

 Despite this,

the band have been listening to a varied selection of bands for

inspiration, including ?[Brian] Eno, The Damned, Trout, Tiger Lillies,

Bowie, Bronski Beat, Beefheart, The Stanleys, Dylan. [George

Harrison?s] ?All Things Must Pass? was on the turntable for quite a

bit. A bit of Bhangra. The occasional bit of RnB. Whatever?s around. I

don?t know if it has much impact on how the record will sound.
