Mountains of Madness DVD - MOM DVD 1 - 2006

Based on stories by HP Lovecraft, with visuals by Danielle de Picciotto.
H.P. Lovecraft, born on the 20th of August 1890 in Providence, Rhode Island, was hardly known as an author during his lifetime. After his death his reputation as master of the macabre was immortalized and his work is considered a classic of horror-literature.
On the 18th of August 2005 the World premiere “Mountains of Madness” was dedicated to this master by the artists Alexander Hacke (known as bassist of Einstürzende Neubauten), Berlin Icon Danielle de Picciotto and the legendary English group The Tiger Lillies.
Mountains of Madness is a spine-chilling musical performance based on some of Lovecraft's most eerie stories, including The Rats in the Walls, At The Mountains of Madness and The Call of Cthulhu. Tales of ancient gods, inexplicable terror and lost souls are brought to life in strangely beautiful, sometimes humorous and melancholy songs. The trademark penetrating falsetto, musical saw, piano, double bass and assorted musical instruments of the Tiger Lillies are accompanied by Alexander Hacke's ethereal electronic soundscapes and narration. The production features visuals by artist Danielle de Picciotto and lighting is by Lutz John, known for his work with Einsturzende Neubauten and “Wir Sind Helden”.
The all regions DVD is packaged with lyrics and illustrations, has 2.1 and 5.1 Dolby surround sound options. DVD extras include a directors interview on the creation of Mountains of Madness and "The Unspeakable Act" a short film of the Tiger Lillies in Providence Rhode Island by A Huge.
